The Tincan Special Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has secured the convictions of more than 20 drug traffickers between January and June 2024.
This achievement was highlighted by the Commander of Narcotics, Mohammed Abubakar, during a press briefing following a sensitisation walk to mark the UN Day Against Drug Abuse.
Abubakar emphasized the command’s extensive efforts in drug seizures and successful prosecutions, marking a significant milestone in their ongoing battle against drug trafficking.
Commander Abubakar also pointed out the various strategies employed by the command, including sensitization programs and workshops, to educate the public and prevent drug abuse.
He acknowledged the crucial role of cooperation among government agencies and other stakeholders in enhancing the effectiveness of these initiatives.
The 2024 campaign theme, “Evidence is Clear, Invest in Prevention,” underscores the importance of preventive measures in combating drug abuse and trafficking.
