The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor,on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama, inaugurated the newly constituted Board of the Energy Commission .
The swearing-in ceremony marked a significant step in advancing Ghana’s energy sector and green transition initiatives.
The board, tasked with overseeing the Commission’s strategic direction, comprises distinguished professionals with diverse expertise. Prof. John Gartchie Gatsi will serve as Chairman, leading the team alongside Mrs. Eunice A. Biritwum, the Acting Executive Secretary.
Other members include Dr. Audrey Smock Amoah, Mr. Danny Adzei Anang, Ms. Lorm Ama Abledu, Prof. Dr. Ernest Ofori Asamoah, and Hon. Naser Mahama Toure.
The Energy Commission’s Management and Staff warmly welcomed the new board, expressing confidence in their ability to drive policies that enhance energy access, sustainability, and innovation.
The board’s formation comes at a critical time as Ghana intensifies efforts to meet its green transition goals and strengthen its energy infrastructure.
Minister Jinapor urged the board to leverage their collective expertise to address emerging challenges in the energy sector while promoting renewable energy adoption.
The inauguration underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring a robust and sustainable energy framework for Ghana’s future.
