The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has strengthened its collaboration with the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) to advance training, technology, and institutional development.
Led by a high-level delegation, the NCS engaged Chinese counterparts in discussions centred on digital customs, port modernization, and human capital development. Highlights included China’s use of 5G, virtual simulations, and hybrid learning in customs training, tools that have supported thousands of sessions and online modules.
China’s customs officials praised Nigeria’s recent reforms and noted the country’s growing leadership on the global stage. They also welcomed more Nigerian participation in China-led capacity-building programmes, where officers have already been trained in areas such as trade facilitation, anti-smuggling, and food safety.
