The International Trade Centre, in partnership with the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), has hosted the Trade Policy Dialogue and Export Readiness Training at the Africa Trade House in Accra.
During the event, Osafohene Dr. Afua Asabea Asare I, CEO of GEPA, underscored the organization’s dedication to advancing inclusive trade policies and supporting women-led businesses.
Dr. Asare emphasized the significance of the initiative in fostering a more vibrant and equitable export environment, recognizing the substantial potential of women entrepreneurs as key drivers of economic growth in Ghana.
The workshops conducted sorted to equip policymakers and women entrepreneurs with essential skills for success in the global marketplace, with a focus on collaboration and amplifying women’s voices to propel Ghana’s export agenda forward.
The Trade Policy Dialogue and Export Readiness Training received accolades from key figures in attendance, including Ms. Vicky Allard, Trade Policy Advisor, FCDO in Ghana, Ms. Francesca Distenfano, Gender and Policy Expert, FAO Regional Office for Africa, and Ms. Luladay Mengistie, Project Manager at EWAT.
These representatives expressed gratitude to GEPA for its collaborative efforts and highlighted the potential impact of the training on participants.
They collectively conveyed hope that the initiative would contribute significantly to the empowerment of women entrepreneurs and policymakers, ultimately enhancing Ghana’s position in the global market.
