The Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Ernest Addison, has been appointed as the chairman of a newly constituted five-member committee tasked with overseeing COCOBOD’s Educational Trust Fund.
The committee includes distinguished members such as Dr. Eric Nkansah, the Director General of the Ghana Education Service, Bismarck Fuachie, the 2022 National Best Cocoa Farmer, Dr. Emmanuel A. Opoku, Deputy Chief Executive in charge of operations at COCOBOD, Ray Ankrah, Deputy Chief Executive in charge of finance and administration, and Francis Opoku, Director, Legal and Solicitor Secretary at COCOBOD.
The primary mandate of this committee is to provide essential educational infrastructure for the children of cocoa farmers in underserved regions.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony in Accra on Monday, May 20, Dr. Addison expressed his commitment to the committee’s mission.
“I acknowledge the calibre of individuals chosen to serve with me on the trust; their collective experience and expertise will undoubtedly enrich our efforts and lead us towards success,” Addison stated.
He emphasized his confidence in the team’s dedication and insights, noting his previous experience as chairman of the COCOBOD scholarship scheme.
“I assure you, Mr. Chairman and other board members, that my colleagues and I are fully committed to discharging our duties to the best of our abilities. Together, we will strive to make a lasting and positive impact on the lives of cocoa farmers and their communities through education,” Addison affirmed.
