The World Health Organization (WHO) has handed over more than 940 tablets to the Ministry of Health (MOH) to help boost Kenya’s healthcare digitalization agenda.
Cabinet Secretary Nakhumicha S. Wafula, alongside officials, received the tablets, marking a significant step towards enhancing data management within the immunization schedule.
“These tablets will play a crucial role in managing data within the immunization schedule and ensure better organization and accuracy,” expressed Wafula, highlighting the importance of the donation.
Principal Secretary (PS) Harry Kimtai commended the generous contribution, emphasizing its significance in advancing digital healthcare infrastructure.
“This generous contribution marks a milestone in enhancing digital healthcare infrastructure and underscores the commitment by the Kenya Kwanza government to harness technology for the betterment of healthcare,” stated Kimtai.
The donation aligns with the government’s broader agenda of digitizing services, particularly in delivering Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
In response, Wafula expressed gratitude to WHO for their support, noting that the tablets would significantly enhance the efficiency of the National Vaccines Immunization Program and contribute to the overall digitization efforts of the MOH.
