Botswana Oil Limited (BOL) has been empowered as the preferred “Public Body” under the BERA Amendment Act of August 2022 to import products directly.
This move is to ensure a consistent security of supply of the products for the country.

In an address to the Editor’s Forum to share its Readiness Programme, it was revealed that, with effect from 1st April 2024, 90% of fuel imports required for Botswana shall be imported by BOL as pronounced by the Minister of Minerals and Energy in September 2023.
Joining the forum was the BOL Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Meshack Tshekedi along with the Board Committees Chairpersons led by the Board Chairman Mr. Martin Makgatlhe, the Ministry of Minerals and Energy, Department of Energy Chief Energy Engineer, Mr. Baruti Regoeng, BOL EXCO members and Senior Management.
BOL asserted that it recognises the media as a critical partner in information dissemination, its immense power to shape public opinions, ensuring accountability and keeping the publics abreast of developments.
