The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), alongside key partners including the Ghana Exim Bank, Ghana Trade Fair Company, and the Ghana Airports Company Limited, has announced the launch of Akwaaba Village.
Set to take place from December 15, 2023, to January 8, 2024, near the Hajj Village, the month-long family-oriented bazaar aims to offer an immersive experience into the vibrant cultural heritage of Ghana.
The event will showcase a blend of music, food, and art, providing an unparalleled opportunity to celebrate made-in-Ghana goods and create lasting memories.
Akwasi Agyeman, Chief Executive Officer of the GTA, expressed excitement about the initiative, stating, “December is one of the most anticipated months in Ghana by tourists globally, as they seek to come to the country and experience the rich culture and warmth of the Ghanaian people. Akwaaba Village is not just a celebration; it’s an invitation for families and visitors to immerse themselves in the warmth and hospitality that Ghana is renowned for.”
The Akwaaba Village promises an array of cultural showcases, traditional music and dance performances, a culinary journey featuring local Ghanaian dishes, and an opportunity to purchase unique handmade souvenirs from local artisans.
The Ghana Tourism Authority also encouraged the public to mark their calendars and partake in this extraordinary celebration of Ghana’s culture and hospitality.
