The Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) emerged as a standout at the 10th Africa Public Service Day (APSD) celebrations, held at the African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa. Kenya’s delegation showcased groundbreaking innovations in public service delivery, cementing the country’s position as a continental leader.
The event, themed “Enhancing the Agility and Resilience of Public Institutions to Achieve Equitable Governance and Rapidly Address Historical Service Delivery Gaps,” highlighted Kenya’s strides in digital transformation. Principal Secretary for Public Service and Human Capital Development, Dr. Jane Imbunya, praised Kenya’s leadership in re-engineering public services through technology.
“Kenya has transformed public service delivery by adopting modern technologies and Artificial Intelligence, improving efficiency and value for citizens,” Dr. Imbunya said during the closing ceremony.

A key highlight was KPA’s presentation of its digital KargoPay payment system, which has streamlined cargo clearance and boosted operational efficiency at Kenya’s ports. The innovation drew widespread acclaim, positioning KPA as a frontrunner for awards at the gala dinner scheduled for tonight.
