The Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Dr. Dacosta Aboagye has Commissioned a new Manya Krobo District office to enhance health service operations in the country.
As part of his familiarisation tour, Mr Aboagye met selected NHIA Regional and District staff from Eastern, Volta, and Oti Regions as he held high level discussions to enable a transparent and better cooperation service.
“I commissioned the Manya Krobo District office of NHIA and later visited the Akuapehene, Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III,’ he wrote.
Some discussions focused on were his 4-point agenda:
1. Mandatory insurance for non-Ghanaians visiting Ghana
2. Annual medical checkup for Ghanaians
3. Dealing with illegal payments or co-payments
4. Formalisation through provision of Ghana card for 6.3 million children aged 6- 14 years, while supporting persons over 15 years and above to integrate their NHIS cards with their Ghana card.
“This means your Ghana Card number is your NHIS number for medical access,” Dr. Aboagye emphasized.
This development follows the recent outdooring of a new ultra modern office complex in Sekyere East to improve access and equity in healthcare delivery.
