Principal Secretary of the State Department for Diaspora Affairs, Roseline K. Njogu on Tuesday August 152023 joined the First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto at State House for the commissioning of a cohort of 210 Kenyan trainees for the 2023 Mashav Agricultural Training Program at the Arava International Centre for Agricultural Training (AICAT) in Israel.
In her remarks, PS Njogu reiterated the commitment of the Government in not only addressing arising matters but also leveraging the opportunities and networks abroad including employment, business, education, training and capacity building exchanges for the socio-economic growth of the Diaspora Community and the country.
The PS echoed Mama Ruto sentiments by acknowledging the fruitful collaboration between Kenya and Israel and expressed her appreciation for the First Lady for coordinating the exercise that will see the students trained in different sectors such as agriculture for close to a year.
PS Njogu further called on the students to be in touch with the Kenyan Embassy in Israel, be Kenya’s cultural representative, learn with focus on technology and knowledge transfer to be utilized back home.
She added that this will equip them with refined skills and fresh perspectives poised to contribute significantly to the advancement of Kenya’s development, and also stay in touch with one another to provide the much-needed emotional and psychological support during their stay far away from home.
