A high-level delegation of Permanent Secretaries from Uganda began a three-day benchmarking visit to South Africa today, hosted by the Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA) in collaboration with the Centre for Public Service Innovation (CPSI) and the Public Service Commission (PSC).
Running from 28 to 30 July, the visit aims to foster knowledge exchange and strengthen public sector governance.
The Ugandan officials are engaging with South African institutions to gain insights from the National Framework Towards the Professionalisation of the Public Sector, a cornerstone of South Africa’s public service reform efforts.
Uganda has identified South Africa as a vital regional partner in its quest to enhance governance and elevate public service delivery.

Acting Director-General of the DPSA, Mr. Willie Vukela, highlighted the significance of the visit, stating, “This benchmarking exercise presents a valuable opportunity to lay the groundwork for formal cooperation between our two countries.”
The initiative underscores the commitment to deepening ties between the nations’ public service institutions.
