The Minister of Interior, Dr. Tunji-Ojo gave this assurance on Wednesday while receiving the Managing Director of NAN, Malam Ali Muhammad Ali, in his office in Abuja.
He emphasized the need for collective efforts in informing citizens about the Federal Government’s initiatives, particularly those aligned with its eight-point agenda.
As part of ongoing reforms in the Ministry, the Minister disclosed that President Tinubu had approved the establishment of a National Paramilitary Academy to train young Nigerians. He also highlighted the employment of 50 doctors and 100 nurses to provide healthcare services for inmates in correctional centers across the country. Additionally, the government has directed that medical personnel from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) be deployed to these facilities to support existing staff.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo further pointed to the success of the newly introduced contactless passport renewal system, which he said has streamlined the application process, reduced corruption, and enhanced efficiency.

Addressing security concerns, the Minister stressed the importance of protecting Nigeria’s critical infrastructure. He noted the recent collaboration between the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development to safeguard the nation’s mineral resources through the establishment of a mining marshal command. Similarly, he emphasized efforts to secure power infrastructure to boost investor confidence in the country.
In his remarks, the Managing Director of NAN, Malam Ali Muhammad Ali, commended the Ministry of Interior for its transformative initiatives.
“I want to categorically commend the Honourable Minister for driving these unprecedented reforms in conformity with the agenda of the President,” he said.
The meeting underscored a strategic partnership between the Ministry of Interior and NAN to enhance public awareness and engagement on key government policies and programs.
