The Civil Aviation Authority of Botswana ((CAAB) has announced that PG Matante International Airport (PGMIA) Wellness and Welfare Committee, in collaboration with National AIDS & Health Promotion Agency (NAHPA), Diagnofirm, and the Fighters Supporters Group, has come together to commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness.
This partnership aimed to promote awareness of the importance of early detection and treatment of breast cancer.
The event featured health screenings, educational sessions, and support initiatives for those affected by the disease, demonstrating the commitment of all parties involved to fighting breast cancer and supporting the community’s well-being.
In her opening remarks, the Acting Airport Manager, Ms Ogomoditse Motlheng emphasized the critical role of partnership in the fight against breast cancer.
She highlighted that collaboration among various stakeholders, including healthcare providers, businesses, and the community, is essential to raise awareness, improve access to early detection, and support those affected by the disease.
By working together, she said, they can make a significant impact in combating breast cancer and improving outcomes for patients.
The event was attended by the PGMIA staff, who actively participated in the Breast Cancer Awareness commemoration.
Their involvement highlighted the importance of unity in promoting health and well-being, with many participating in the screenings and educational activities provided by the PGMIA Wellness and Welfare Committee in collaboration with NAHPA, Diagnofirm, and the Fighters Supporters Group.
This strong turnout from the airport community underscored their collective commitment to the fight against breast cancer.
