The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has announced the initiation ‘equity walk’ to commemorate the 2024 International Women’s Day celebration.
The Ministry in an invite to individuals and stakeholders indicated the global theme for the commemoration of the IWD is “Invest in Women: Accelerate progress” with campaign theme # InvestInWomen#.
The theme seeks to draw attention to the importance of investing in women to promote human rights, work towards building inclusive societies and reduce poverty among women.
The IWD is a commemorative event set aside by the United Nations globally to celebrate economic, political and social achievements of women on 8th March every year.
According to the Ministry, the Walk is scheduled on Friday, 8th March, 2024, time 7am to 10am.
The Start point for the walk is Kwame Nkrumah Water Park Fountain, Circle and is scheduled to end at the New Office Complex, MoGCSP.
