The Managing Director of Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA), Mohammed Bello-Koko alongside the other Public Sector Executives on Monday January 8th, 2024 convened for an emergency meeting.
The emergency meeting organised by Bello-Koko soughted to broker peace between the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria and Marginal Field Operators of the Oil and Gas Industry over non-compliance with Stevedoring Regulations.
The according to a statement released by the NPA, the meeting resulted in the signing of a communiqué to resolve the workers grievances and the suspension of the planned strike action.
Present at the meeting included the Executive Director Engineering and Technical Services, Engr. Ibrahim Abba; Adedapo Segun, Executive Vice President DownStream of NNPC Limited; Prince Adewale Adenyanju, Deputy President, Nigerian Labour Congress/President-General Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN); Charles Okaga, Port Manager, Lagos Port Complex; and Comrade Ifeanyi Mazeli, President MWUN-NPA Branch.
