The City Manager Mr Gitau Thabanja has witnessed the issuance of 83 title deeds to the beneficiaries of Teachers, Menengai Ward, in the City. The successful exercise underscored H.E. Governor Susan Kihika’s unwavering commitment to driving development within the city.
During the Exercise, Mr Thabanja took the opportunity to emphasize the Governor’s dedication to the city’s progress and disclosed forthcoming plans to implement development initiatives specifically in Menengai Ward.
He said these initiatives would be made possible through the implementation of the second phase of the Kenya Urban Support Program (KUSP), which is yet to be rolled out while citing priority projects earmarked for implementation including tarmacking of MUCHORI road, installation of streetlights among others.
Area MCA Wilson Mwangi Wajeff acknowledged Governor Kihika’s Administration’s efforts in facilitating the successful processing of the ownership documents.
The beneficiaries were urged and cautioned to remain vigilant and clear of fraudulent individuals posing as land-buying companies. This warning aimed to protect the beneficiaries from falling victim to scams and ensure their rightful land ownership remains intact.
Several beneficiaries expressed their satisfaction and relief by sharing testimonials about the previously hectic and time-consuming procedures they had to endure. They expressed their joy in finally receiving their land ownership documents, appreciating how the process by the County Administration has made a significant positive impact on their lives.
The beneficiaries were further provided with essential information regarding the difference between title deeds and certificates of lease. They were enlightened about the significance of possessing a title deed, as it serves as legal proof of land ownership and provides security of tenure for the beneficiaries.
Also joining the exercise were Menengai Ward Development Committee members, the Ward Administrator and City Officers.
