The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Shippers’ Authority (GSA), Ms. Benonita Bismarck has held a meeting with the newly elected executive members of the Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA-Ghana).
The gathering served as a platform for discussions on promoting women’s participation in the shipping and logistics sector.
During the meeting, Ms. Bismarck reiterated the Ministry of Transport’s (MoT) unwavering commitment to empowering women to take on key leadership roles in the industry.
Ms. Bismarck highlighted the remarkable progress made in this endeavor by pointing out that three key agencies under the Ministry of Transport, namely the Tema Port of the Ghana Ports & Harbours Authority (GPHA), the Ghana Airport Company Limited, and the GSA, are all currently led by women.
These according to the Authority underscore the MoT’s dedication to facilitating the significant participation of women in driving sectoral growth and contributing to the overall development of the nation.
