Nakuru County Governor H E Susan Kihika on Sunday February 4th, 2024 received massive support in her fight to have the Nakuru War Memorial Hospital managed by the County Government.
Kalenjin leaders, among them former MPs and some holding top government positions, said Governor Kihika was fighting a just cause to take over the hospital. They told off those opposing the Governor’s battle, saying the County Government was right to take over the hospital on expiry of the land lease.
Governor Kihika, who was Chief Guest during the opening of the Ogiek African Inland Church in Karandit, Tinet Ward in Kuresoi South Sub County, vowed not to relent in her fight. She said the purported extension of the lease was through forgery with the directors and persons of interest facing 12 charges in court.
Governor Kihika donated Kshs1 million to the church and promised to factor construction and equipping of an ECDE centres at the church compound in the next Financial Year in addition to assisting in the construction of a health centre. AIC Presiding Bishop, Rev Abraham Mulwa delivered the sermon.
Present were Deputy Governor H E David Kones, Chief of Staff Peter Ketienya, former MPs, Chief Officers John Koech ( Education), Ken Mungai (Environment), Kibet Kurgat (Cooperatives) and MCAs.
