Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu will travel to Nairobi, Kenya, to participate in the Fifth Mid-Year Coordination Meeting of the African Union (AU), Regional Economic Communities (RECs), Regional Mechanisms (RMs), and African Union Member States.
As the chairperson of ECOWAS, President Tinubu will join other heads of state and government, foreign ministers, and high-level dignitaries at the meeting on July 16. He will present a report on the status of regional integration in ECOWAS, highlighting actions taken to deepen integration through trade, free movement of persons, investment promotion, infrastructure development, and peace and security.
The meeting, held under the theme ‘Acceleration of African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Implementation’, will bring together leaders from various regional economic communities and the African Union Commission. President Tinubu will be accompanied by senior government officials and will return to Nigeria after the conclusion of the meeting.
