Mr. Richard Cheruiyot, the newly appointed Board Chairman of Export Processing Zones Authority (EPZA) has officially taken over from Mr. Ben Olunya.
In a ceremony held at EPZ Athi River and attended by EPZA Board Directors and Senior Management Mr. Cheruiyot, a career Advocate of the High Court stressed that the EPZ Program managed by the Authority, is critical to the fulfilment of the Bottom – Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
He added that EPZA activities will continue aligning to BETA to ensure increased manufacturing and value – addition activities to further boost the value of finished export goods from Kenya to the World.
The Board Chairman stressed that EPZA would prioritize innovation to enhance the pre – investment process and ensure that EPZ investors set up and commence their operations faster.
On his part, Mr. Olunya appreciated that Board and Management noting that during his tenure new Zones had been established thereby increasing new investments in a variety of sectors all thanks to EPZA’s commitment to aggressively promote and sensitize the public on the EPZ Program.
