Renewable Energy Investment Forum is being conducted in Addis Ababa co-organized by African Energy One and the Ministry of Water and Energy.
Opening the conference, H.E. Dr.Ing. Habtamu Itefa stated that Ethiopia is endowed with renewable energy resources comprising Hydropower, Solar, wind and Geothermal that can be tapped to enhance the socioeconomic development in the country.
Excellency Minister also underscored that exploiting renewable energy resources is instrumental in facilitating regional energy integration among neighbouring countries.
His Excellency also indicated that Ethiopia is working towards becoming the hub of green energy development in the region.

Mr. Mathew Mwangomba, General Manager of the Tanzanian Geothermal Development Company, on his part, said that Tanzania has a potential for geothermal energy generation that can contribute to energy security. He also expressed that the conference is an opportunity for sharing experiences on energy development and generation among actors in the energy sector.
It is indicated in the event that the conference aims at facilitating cooperation between Ethiopian/Tanzanian authorities responsible for energy projects and leading investors, international enterprises, financial institutions and service providers to advance renewable projects in both countries.
