Kenya has stepped up preparations for the upcoming Africa Forward Summit 2026, with senior government officials holding a high-level coordination meeting ahead of the global gathering scheduled for May 11–12 in Nairobi.
The Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy, William Kabogo, joined fellow Cabinet members in the strategic meeting convened by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi to review the country’s readiness for the summit.
The summit will be co-hosted by William Samoei Ruto and Emmanuel Macron and is expected to attract thousands of delegates from across Africa and beyond, including Heads of State and Government, policymakers, investors, innovators, and development partners.

According to officials, discussions during the meeting focused on ensuring seamless inter-governmental coordination and effective execution plans as Kenya prepares to host one of the continent’s largest international forums.
The summit is expected to serve as a strategic platform for advancing partnerships in digital innovation, infrastructure development, investment, and youth empowerment, key pillars considered central to Africa’s socio-economic transformation.

The Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the digital and technological aspects of the summit to help drive impactful conversations and outcomes.
Kenya also reiterated its ambition to strengthen its position as a regional hub for innovation, connectivity, and global collaboration through the successful hosting of the high-profile event.
