The Department of Small Business Development (DSBD) has issued a timely reminder to entrepreneurs and small business owners that the application period for the Business Infrastructure Support Programme (BISP) remains open.
Launched on 1 September 2025, the programme encourages eligible Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and cooperatives to submit their applications before the deadline.
The BISP is designed to boost the growth and sustainability of MSMEs by providing critical infrastructure, equipment, technology, and energy solutions, particularly in underserved areas.
The initiative supports the construction of MSME hubs, the provision of equipment, tools, machinery, and renewable energy, and offers business development services to enhance efficiency and competitiveness.
As a key initiative by the DSBD, the programme aims to create an enabling environment for small businesses to thrive across South Africa. A call for applications and proposals was widely distributed via the DSBD website and other relevant platforms to maximize participation.
Interested applicants are urged to act swiftly, with the deadline set for 19 September 2025. The DSBD emphasizes the importance of submitting applications before this date to avoid missing out on this valuable opportunity.
