The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced an increase in fees for Nigerian Standard Passports, effective September 1, 2025, as part of efforts to maintain the quality and integrity of the passport issuance process.
The fee adjustment applies exclusively to passport applications submitted within Nigeria. The new fee structure sets the cost for a 32-page passport with a 5-year validity at N100,000 and a 64-page passport with a 10-year validity at N200,000.
Nigerians in the diaspora will see no changes to their passport application fees, which remain at $150 for a 32-page passport with 5-year validity and $230 for a 64-page passport with 10-year validity.
The NIS emphasized its commitment to balancing high-quality service delivery with ensuring passport services remain accessible to all Nigerians. The fee increase is intended to support ongoing improvements to the passport issuance system.
