The three-day inaugural inter-county job fair hosted by the State Department for Diaspora Affairs of Kenya today concluded, drawing the curtains on the event that was full of activities at the Kinoru Stadium, Meru County.
In his remarks during the closing session, Hon. Dawood Abdul Rahim, MP, North Imenti, commended the Government in its efforts to facilitate and guide Kenyans on the overseas jobs.
“I hope this job fair can be replicated countrywide and I want to thank the President Williams Ruto for ensuring our youths have jobs out there. This will not only reduce unemployment but also increase upscale the country’s socio-economic development.” he said.
On her part, Ms. Irene Karari , Ag. Director, Skills and Expertise at State Department thanked PS Roseline O. Njogu and the stakeholders who made the event successful, highlighting the significance of the Job Fair in dispelling misinformation and educating the public about safe and regular pathways for labour migration.
“We have highlighted the different entry points and pathways to working in various countries and industries ensuring that attendees leave this event equipped with valuable knowledge, information and resources” Ms. Karari noted.
The third day and final day also featured an interactive panel discussion where participants engaged with stakeholders representing diverse roles along the value chain in labor migration.
The interactive session facilitated an exchange of information, allowing attendees to pose questions and gain deeper insights into the processes and opportunities associated with working abroad.
