The outstanding man of substance and intellect, who has made significant strides in expanding access to healthcare and who builds on development and ease for the citizens of Morocco, honourable Khalid Ait Taleb has been warmly selected as the Public Sector Global “Minister of the Week” for the month of February 2024.
The Minister has taken it as a crucial part of his responsibility to extend social and health coverage, which has become his ministry’s broader commitment, to ensure that every Moroccan has access to necessary healthcare, regardless of their economic status.
Hon Khalid is a medical professor and politician who has contributed and created a niche in all capacities and his previous offices. Following his outstanding contributions and laudable achievements to the health sector, he has become our celebrated Minister of the Week.
In his recent laudable feat, the minister is in close partnership with organisations and also the World Health Organisation with their core focus of enabling the health sector to be open and affordable for all, “HealthforAll”. The Morocco–WHO cooperation strategy focuses on four priority areas: strengthening the national health system in its efforts to achieve universal health coverage; strengthening the resilience of the national health system; strengthening governance in the process of redesigning the national health system; and promoting the health and well-being of the population and health equity by addressing social and environmental determinants and consolidating a multisectoral approach.
The Public Sector Global’s Minister of the Week is targeted at showcasing the achievements of ministers across the African continent; by promoting their good works, right policies, and exceptional leadership in various ministries across Africa. It’s also aimed at inspiring public service officials to be competitive and promote efficient service delivery for African citizens.
