Principal Secretary of the State Department for Environment and Climate Change, Eng Festus Ngeno has chaired a meeting with the multi-agency technical team overseeing the restoration of the entire Chyulu Hills Catchment.
The meeting delved into critical aspects of the restoration process in Chyulu Catchment restoration, evaluating the survival rate of planted trees and the composition of the Inter-Agency collaboration dedicated to the catchment’s revival.
Attention was directed towards ongoing activities at Kiu Wetland, specifically addressing the fencing measures in place and the collaborative efforts in place for the catchment’s holistic restoration.
Representatives from various entities, including state departments, county governments, and environmental agencies, actively participated, emphasizing a unified approach to this vital ecological endeavor.

The meeting was attended by representatives from state departments of Forestry, Lands and Physical Planning, County Government of Makueni, National Lands Commission, NEMA, KWTA, KFS among others.” The State Department for Environment and Climate Change wrote.
