President Bola Tinubu has approve the appointment of Governing Council of the Midstream and Downstream Gas Infrastructure Fund (MDGIF).
MDGIF will operate under the umbrella of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).
The newly appointed MDGIF Governing Council will be chaired by the Minister of State, Petroleum Resources (Gas), with key figures including MDGIF Executive Director, Mr Oluwole Adama and MDGIF Governing Council Secretary Mr Joseph Tolorunshe.
The Council also includes Engr Farouk Ahmed, the Chief Executive of NMDPRA, a representative from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), a representative from the Federal Ministry of Finance, and independent members Ms Amina Maina (North-East), Mr Edet David Ubong (South-South), and Mr Tajudeen Bolaji Musa (South-West).
The President, through his spokesman Ajuri Ngelale emphasized the importance of upholding the highest standards of transparency, discipline, and patriotism in the discharge of their duties, aligning with the administration’s commitment to bolster the role of the gas sector in driving robust and inclusive economic growth for Nigeria.
