Carbinet Secretary of the Ministry of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, Honourable Mithika Linturi has hosted the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) Country Director, Mariatu Kamara and Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) Country Representative (FAO Kenya) Ambassador Carla Mucavi.
The move follows as CD Kamara and Amb. Mucavi paid a courtesy call on Hon. Linturi at the Kilimo House.
The discussion focused on priority areas in Food Systems development, as agreed during the Food System Summit held in the USA in September 2021, including nutrition, building resilience, youth and women support, and digitization in Agricultural sector.
They also deliberated on the approaches to be used in the development of National and County Agricultural Development plans as they seek to be a food secure nation by 2030.
