The Moroccan Minister of Economy and Finance, the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco, Mrs Nadia Fettag Alaoui has emerged Africa Public Sector Magazine’s “Minister of the Week” for the month July 17th-23rd July, 2022 rankings.

Born in 1971 in Rabat, Fettah is a Moroccan businesswoman, a politician, and a leading figure in the finance sector who has been praised for her expertise in sectors that have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
She holds a position that is greatly competitive and requires spans of experience and expertise amongst other traits. During the cabinet reshuffle of former Prime Minister Saad Eddine El Otmani, Nadia was the first female at the helm of the country’s Ministry of Tourism, Air Transport, and Social Economy.
Upon her ministerial appointment, the minister joined the National Rally of Independents Party (NRI) as a member.
The minister is also among the founders and managers of the “Club des Femmes Administrateurs au Maroc,” the Women Directors Club in Morocco, and a member of the international network “Women Corporate Directors.”
After completing her studies in her hometown, she went to France to pursue her higher education at HEC Paris, a renowned business school, where she graduated in 1994.
In 1997, she began her professional career at the multinational Arthur Andersen company, formerly known as one of the “Big Five” accounting firms.
Alaoui climbed the rungs of the finance industry when she first launched Maroc Invest Finances in 2000 and then joined Saham Group as General-Director in charge of the support and finance division of the CNIA insurance company.
She was promoted in 2013 and became Deputy Chief Financial Officer of Saham Group, and was appointed one year later as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Finance and Operations.
Fast forward to 2018, Nadia Fettah was chosen as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Saham Insurance and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Saham Finances. She resigned in the same year.
For her achievements and growth over the year, Mrs Nadia has received several awards amongst which are; the prestigious CEO of the Year Award at the 2018 Africa CEO Forum in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
