In a significant ceremony marking his 10th coronation anniversary, His Imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, on Monday conferred the high-ranking chieftaincy title of Aare Atayeto Oodua of the Source on the visiting President of Ghana, Dr. John Mahama.
The installation, held at the historic Palace Square in Ile-Ife, recognizes President Mahama as “A President who reorganises the global space for humanity,” according to a post by Ghana’s national television, GTV.

President Mahama was received earlier at the Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport in Ibadan, Oyo State, before proceeding to Ile-Ife, where he was welcomed into the ancient city by large crowds.

The event drew a distinguished gathering, including the President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, and the Publisher of Ovation Magazine, Dele Momodu, among other notable personalities.
The title of Aare Atayeto Oodua of the Source underscores the enduring cultural and diplomatic ties between Nigeria and Ghana, honoring President Mahama’s leadership and his perceived role in fostering global humanitarian collaboration.
