President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Deputy Controller-General (DCG) Olumode Samuel Adeyemi as the new substantive Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), effective August 14, 2025.
The announcement was made in a statement by Abdulmalik Jibrin, Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB).
Adeyemi’s appointment follows the impending retirement of the current Controller-General, Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola, set for August 1, 2025, upon reaching the mandatory retirement age of 60. Adeyemi, a seasoned fire service professional, brings extensive experience to the role.
Having transferred from the FCT Fire Service to the FFS, he rose to the rank of Deputy Controller-General in the Human Resource Directorate at the Service Headquarters.
Throughout his career, Adeyemi has completed all mandatory in-service training, including command courses and additional professional development programs both in Nigeria and abroad.
