The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) Foundation has officially launched over 150 projects across the country. These initiatives include astro-turf facilities, boreholes, classroom blocks, CHPS compounds, and sanitation facilities, among others. Commencing in 2017, these projects have significantly impacted and transformed the lives of individuals and communities nationwide.
During the launch event, beneficiaries of the Foundation’s scholarship program shared testimonies on how their lives and communities have been positively affected. GNPC’s board chair, Freddie Blay, lauded the Foundation’s efforts, stating, “These projects and other initiatives are geared toward improving the living standards of Ghanaians.” He also commended the Member of Parliament for Takoradi, Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, for his contributions to the completion of the GNPC Energy House.
Western Regional Minister Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah emphasized the importance of public awareness regarding the Foundation’s impact. “The Foundation must let people of the region know the extent and impact of GNPC Foundation on the people’s lives in the region. I therefore charge the Executive Director and his team to embark on a massive campaign that informs the general public on how far the Foundation has supported various regions and the country as whole,” he stated.
Awulae Agama-Tu Gyan, Chief of Gwira Banso and chairman of the ceremony, praised the Foundation for its mission to positively impact lives and urged chiefs to ensure that the projects serve their intended purposes.
Executive Director of the GNPC Foundation, Dr. Dominic Eduah, highlighted the various completed and ongoing projects during his presentation. He also urged contractors working on projects across the country to complete them promptly.
The GNPC Foundation’s initiatives reflect its commitment to enhancing the quality of life for Ghanaians and fostering community development across the nation.
