The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has reaffirmed its commitment to the well-being of retirees by presenting a cheque of GH¢1 million to the National Pensioners Association (NPA).
This generous donation is specifically designated to bolster the healthcare services provided under the NPA’s Pensioners Medical Scheme (PMS), underscoring SSNIT’s dedication to supporting pensioners enrolled in the scheme.
This contribution marks a continuation of SSNIT’s ongoing support, following previous donations in 2018, 2019, and 2021, including financial aid and the provision of a vehicle to address transportation challenges faced by NPA members.
Speaking at the ceremony held at the SSNIT Pension House in Accra, Dr. John Ofori-Tenkorang, the Director-General of SSNIT, reiterated the Trust’s unwavering support towards the NPA and its members. He emphasized SSNIT’s commitment to fulfilling its social responsibility by enhancing the quality of life for retirees who have dedicated their active years to the nation’s workforce.
The General Secretary of the NPA, Mr. Stephen Boakye, expressed gratitude for SSNIT’s continuous support and affirmed the responsible use of the donated funds, ensuring they serve their intended purpose in providing essential healthcare services to pensioners.
