President Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appointed Mr. John Kwaning Mbroh as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA).
The appointment, effective from February 1, 2024, marks the succession of Mr. Hayford Atta Krufi, who is set to retire after serving in the position since 2017.
The NPRA’s statement, signed by Nana Sifa Twum, Head of Corporate Affairs, highlighted Mr. Mbroh’s significant contributions during his six-year tenure as the Director of Standards and Compliance.
His expertise in pension systems and administration, coupled with his role as the Coordinator of the Authority’s Risk-Based Supervision System (RBSS), has strategically advanced the NPRA’s regulatory functions concerning the 3-tier pension schemes, trustees, and service providers.
Mr. Mbroh, a seasoned professional, brings a wealth of experience to the role, having undergone specialized training in areas such as Risk-Based Supervision of pension funds, pension system design, and responsible investing.
Prior to joining the NPRA in 2018, he served as a Senior Lecturer, Head of the Department of Accountancy Studies, and Director of the Business Advisory Directorate at Cape Coast Technical University from January 2006 to December 2017.
His multifaceted background positions him to lead the NPRA with a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies of pension management and regulatory frameworks.
