100 bright and needy learners drawn from across Makueni County who sat the 2023 KCPE are set to join secondary schools of their choice on full scholarships awarded by the Government of Makueni County.
The 100 learners who were thoroughly vetted and scheduled to report to school beginning next week were presented with their first-year full fees scholarship cheques by Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr, in a colourful event held at Wote Green Park Amphitheatre.
Esther Kyalo, one of the beneficiaries who sat her KCPE exams at Kiaoni Primary School, Kikumbulyu North Ward and scored 392 marks termed the scholarship God-send opportunity.

Gov. Mutula Kilonzo Jr pledged to leverage in his good working relationship with the various development partners to mobilize more resources so as to ensure that every bright and vulnerable learner in Makueni County gets quality education.
He also called on national legislators to amend education laws to make basic education affordable and accessible to all but not a reserve for the wealthy.
