The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) Board Chairman, Hon Caleb Kositany, along with Ag. MD Henry Ogoye and Eng. Colleta Koech, have carried out an inspection of the upgraded power backup and the newly installed Uninterrupted Power System (UPS) at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Thursday morning.
The crucial installations are poised to ensure a constant power supply for the airport’s terminal and essential airside facilities, encompassing Runway and Taxiway Lighting, Radar, Navigation Aids, and Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL).
This move by the Authority includes efforts bolstering the resilience and reliability of JKIA’s operational infrastructure, ensuring uninterrupted services for air travel.

These pivotal installations will safeguard continuous power for the airport’s terminal and critical airside facilities, including the Runway and Taxiway Lighting, Radar, Navigation Aids, and Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL).” KAA wrote on X.
