Permanent Secretary of the State Department for Environment and Climate Change, Eng Festus Ng’eno, has welcomed a delegation from World Vision Kenya led by Operations Director Ms. Miriam Mbembe.
During the meeting, the PS and his guests engaged in discussions covering a range of topics, with a particular focus on World Vision Kenya’s landscape restoration projects in 14 Counties.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to environmental sustainability, biodiversity conservation, and improved livelihoods, Eng Ng’eno emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts involving all stakeholders.
The Ministry has adopted a ‘whole-of-society, whole of Government’ approach to ensure the sustainability of restoration programs.
The PS revealed that the Ministry is in the final stages of developing the National Landscape and Ecosystem Strategy, which will empower Counties to implement tailored plans aimed at enhancing their environmental conservation efforts as part of the government’s flagship 15 billion national tree growing program.
