Cabinet Secretary Hon Soipan Tuya has indicated that the September 4th to 6th inaugural Africa Climate Summit (ACS) in Nairobi will focus on Green Growth and Climate Finance as crucial solutions for climate challenges affecting Africa and the world.
The summit will lay significant emphasis on Africa’s vast renewable energy resources, its abundant green transition minerals, sustainable agriculture practices, and the continent’s unmatched capacity as a carbon sink.
These four areas present unique solutions to the current climate crisis and according to her, can pave the way for a greener future.
Hon. Tuya made this statement on Saturday representing Africa’s climate interests in an international context at a meeting of Think20 (T20) and Sustainable Energy For All (SEforAll).
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the G20 Ministerial Meeting on Energy Transition in Goa, India.
Hon. Tuya’s participation highlighted the global urgency for sustainable energy transitions and underlined the importance of incorporating Africa’s rich environmental resources into the broader global climate strategy.
