Cabinet Secretary of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Dr. Alfred N. Mutua on July 12, 2023 held a meeting with the European Union Ambassordor to Kenya, H.E. Henriette Geiger and Egypt Ambassador to Nairobi, H.E. Wael Nasreldin Attiya.
In attendance also included the current co-chairs of the Global Counterterrorism Forum ( GCTF).
During the meeting, CS Mutua was brief on the centrality of the GCTF as a critical multilateral platform in the fight against Violent Extremism, and expressed the Forum’s desire for Kenya to join the expanding GCTF membership.
“In response, I noted that terrorism remained a grave danger to many societies around the world pointing out that terrorism and violent extremism were stretching the security apparatus of many societies.
In expressing the wish of Kenya to join the GCTF membership, I noted that it was only through focussed global efforts that the scourge of terrorism could be effectively addressed,” the CS of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Dr. Alfred N. Mutua wrote.
