The government has announced its plans to declare Turkana South Game Reserve as a scene of crime and an active operation zone to tackle the growing issue of highway banditry along the Kitale-Lodwar Road.
In a statement released by the Ministry of Interior, it was revealed that a multi-agency security team, under the leadership of CS Kithure Kindiki, will conduct a thorough search operation within the game reserve, targeting every cave and shrub to apprehend criminals seeking refuge there.
This decision forms part of the government’s sustained efforts to address the insecurity challenges faced in the North and North Eastern regions of Kenya.
