The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced that it will from Tuesday, 11th July to Monday, 11th September 2023 embark on a revenue collection exercise dubbed “Operation Zero”.
In an official public notice, the power distribution company noted that “Operation Zero” is aimed at demanding outstanding electricity bills from its customers.
The two-month project will see staff of the company visiting the premises of customers and granting a moratorium to all who are consuming electricity without paying for it to allow them to visit their respective ECG offices for immediate regularization of their supply.
The statement further urged consumers to cooperate with the staff of ECG and the security personnel who will be assisting them, noting that they have legal backing to full access to all its installations as stipulated in the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission’s LI (2413).
Earlier this year the company embarked on a nationwide revenue mobilization exercise in April and June.
