Principal Secretary of the State Department for Internal Security and National administration, Dr. Raymond Omollo and the Principal Secretary of the State Department for Citizen Services, Julius Kibet Bitok have indicated that solutions to the existing challenges in delivery of security and citizen services require more than just good intentions and sustained stakeholder engagement.
The two PSs stressed on the issue to the Committee’s of National Assembly on Administration and Internal Affairs during a session to familiarize the MPs with the modi operandi of their State Departments, set forth the legislative, policy and budgetary support needed to optimize provision of security services and issuance of passports, IDs, DLs and birth certificates and other documents.
The meeting saw the attendance of several leaders including the Heads & CEOs of directorates and SAGAs within the Ministry of Interior.
The MPs were also taken through the State Departments’ running programmes, projects and the Ministry’s responses to various issues of national interest, including specific cases of insecurity.
