United States Vice President Kamala Harris is received by her host H. E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania at the State House, Dar-Tanzania.
The partnership between Tanzania and the United States of America dates back to the 1960s and is rooted in cooperation across different sectors including economic, development, health, and security cooperation.
The visit of the Vice President of the United States to Tanzania aims to among other things, advance bilateral relations through cooperation on commercial engagement, digital connectivity, investing in women and youth, fostering democratic values, food security, marine conservation, and health.
Through such cooperation, the US plans to provide $560 million in bilateral assistance in fiscal year (FY) 2024 for Tanzania.
