Ghana National Gas Company Ltd. has commissioned a 12-Unit classroom block to be used as a satellite campus of Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) at Juansa, Asante Akim North on Friday, 24th February 2023.
At a ceremony to commission the facility, Dr Benjamin K.D. Asante, Chief Executive Officer of Ghana National Gas Company Ltd, mentioned that through a comprehensive corporate social responsibility policy, Ghana Gas has accomplished commendable achievements in healthcare, water and sanitation, sports and education across all regions of the country.
Through the efforts of Hon. Andy Appiah-Kubi, Hon. Francis Oti Boateng, Member of Parliament and Municipal Chief Executive for Asante Akim North respectively, and other dignitaries, Juansa has been adopted as a satellite campus by KsTu and this block is to serve such a purpose.
In the speeches of Hon. Andy Appiah-Kubi, Hon. Francis Oti Boateng, Traditional Leaders and other dignitaries, could not hide their joy and commended the company for such a project. It is their wish that other blocks shall be erected soon to facilitate the smooth running of the satellite campus.
Representing the Vice Chancellor of KsTu, Dr Charles Akomeah Bonsu, Dean, Faculty of Entrepreneurship and Enterprises Development, indicated that in no time, some Diploma programs shall be mounted at the Juansa campus. These programs include Diploma in Catering and Hospitality, Diploma in Automotive Engineering, Diploma in ICT, Diploma in Oil and Gas and Diploma in Business Administration, among others.
After the keys of the facility had been handed over to him, he expressed his profound gratitude and gave the assurance to put the facility to good use and maintain the same well.
Other dignitaries in attendance included Hon. Kwaku Asante Boateng, MP for Asante Akim South and Deputy Railway Minister, Nana Owusu Awuah Ababio, Board Member, Ghana Gas and Ashanti Mampong Botaasehene, Dr Ing. Prince Owusu-Ansah, Vice Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology-KsTU, Dr Kofi Agyarko Ababio, Director, IDCE-KsTU and staff of Ghana Gas.
