South Africa Minister of Transportation, Honourable Fikile Mbalula has emerged as Africa Public Sector magazine’s “Minister of the Week” for the Month ending August 28th- 3rd September 2022 rankings.
Following his outstanding contributions and laudable achievement through providing efficient, reliable and safe public transport in the country, driving technology in the transport industry and changing the narratives of the ministry into a modern transformed ministry. With several of his achievement and milestones, he has won our criteria of being the MoW ratings for this week.
Africa Public Sector Magazine’s Minister of the Week is targeted at showcasing the achievements of ministers across the African continent; by promoting their good works, right policies and exceptional leadership in various ministries across Africa.
It’s also aimed at inspiring public service officials to be competitive and promote efficient service delivery for African citizens.
Milestone and other achievement
- The ministry under his leadership successfully has embraced and adopt technology in service delivery. They launched an online service by the Road Traffic Management Corporation, which deter the old way of registering with authority, inorder to eliminate perverse incentives for corruption, embezzlement and expedite operations and experience.
- Despite the scrutiny in appointment into the south Africa cabinet, Hon Fikile was appointed by president Cyril Ramaphosa, before his appointment has has served as Deputy Minister of Police and Minister of Sports.
- For digital transformation, the ministry introduced computerised learner licence testing technology amongst others which replaced archaic means of doing things in the previous years.
- His Leadership has transformed and contributed to the economic growth of the country, as it has immersely increased the social development of the country and created a new facelift for the people of South Africa.
- Remarkably, Honourable Fikile Mbalula has distinguished himself as an astute political leader in the various roles he has played from student and youth politics to national leadership roles in the ANC.
