The Chief Executive Officer of Economic Development Board Mauritius, Ken Poonoosamy has emerged as Africa Public Sector Magazine’s “CEO of the Week.”
The highly-rated CEO of the Week is a weekly rating of top-performing CEOs of Africa Public institutions, and MDAs, evaluating achievements and portfolios and other criteria.
Mr Ken Poonoosamy was appointed in 2021 by the Board of EDB following consultation and approval of the Prime Minister, as the Chief Executive Officer of the Economic Development Board (EDB).
The Economic Development Board (EDB) is the apex statutory organization of the Government of Mauritius, operating under the aegis of the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Development.
Under his watch, Mr Poonoosamy has provided strong institutional support for strategic economic planning and ensured greater coherence and effectiveness in economic policy formulation thereby promoting Mauritius as an attractive investment and business centre.
Within a short time, EDB has been transformed and has made the country become a competitive exporting country as well as an international financial centre.
The institution now serves as the main institution responsible for country branding for investment promotion; and facilitates both inward and outward investment and ensures a conducive business environment.
