President Akufo-Addo has appointed the Former Mayor of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Osei Assibey Antwi as the New Executive Director of the National Service Scheme.
Mr. Osei Assibey Antwi left office as KMA Chief Executive unconditionally after serving 4 years and 9 months without seeking re-appointment.
The appointment letter of Mr. Osei Assibey Antwi, signed by the Chief of Staff Madam Akosua Frema Osei Opare was dated 17th of September, 2021
“I am pleased to inform you that the President has appointed you to act as the Executive Director of the Ghana National Service Scheme (the Scheme), pending receipt of the constitutionally required advice of the governing board of the Scheme, given in consultation with the Public Services Commission,” a part of the letter read.
Mr. Osei Assibey Antwi appointment as the NSS boss makes him the successor for Mustapha Ussif, the MP for Yagaba-Kubori, who has already been appointed the Minister for Youth and Sports.
The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Ashanti Regional secretary, Sam Pyne, has been nominated to replace Antwi as mayor for KMA.
