Kenya and Rwanda have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation in the digital economy as both countries push for deeper regional collaboration in ICT and innovation.
The bilateral discussions took place on the sidelines of the Africa Forward Summit 2026, co-hosted by Kenya and France in Nairobi.
Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications and the Digital Economy, William Kabogo, hosted Paula Ingabire, Rwanda’s Minister of ICT and Innovation, for high-level talks focused on expanding collaboration across critical digital sectors.

The discussions centred on artificial intelligence, data centres, digital infrastructure, innovation, talent development, and broader regional cooperation aimed at accelerating Africa’s digital transformation agenda.
Speaking after the meeting, Kabogo emphasized the importance of stronger regional coordination and faster implementation of existing frameworks.
“Kenya remains committed to working with Rwanda and other African partners to build a more connected, resilient and innovative digital future for the continent,” he said.
Both countries also agreed on the need to strengthen collaboration through regional platforms such as Connected Africa and Smart Africa.
The Africa Forward Summit 2026 brought together policymakers, innovators, investors, and development partners to reimagine Africa–France cooperation, with key focus areas including innovation, green industrialisation, and digital transformation across the continent.
